Congratulations to all the teams who qualified to fish in the Regional tournament June 14th at Lake Sam Rayburn. 13 teams from TWHS participated. Approximately 200 teams participated in the tournament, which had division teams fishing one of two days to determine which teams would advance to the state tournament in July. It was exciting to finally have teams on the water competing again!
Four in a row! On Feb. 22 at Sam Rayburn Reservoir, our Offshore teams sank some hooks and once again came away with a 1st place win by outfishing the other 23 schools. This is their 4th, 1st place title this season in the Bayou City Division of THSBA and sets a school record. Helping to reel in this first-place win was Connor McLean and Sharon Geer with a five-limit bag of 13.86 pounds for 7th place out of 129 boat teams. In addition, team Evan Carlson and Ross Dixon brought in a 5-bag limit with 13.42 pounds for 8th place and team Jack Northcott and Jack Shanahan had a full bag with 12.31 pounds for 14th place.
Congratulations Highlanders! TWHS Offshore Team took first place in the Bayou City Division of the THSBA Sam Rayburn Reservoir tournament on Nov. 9th with 43 pounds (combined weight of top three teams). 129 boat teams participated representing 21 schools. Congratulations to the team of Hank Chauffe and Aidan Neely and Boat Captain Kyle Bates weighing in 5 fish at 16.74 pounds to win the tournament.
Repeat!! TWHS THSBA Team won 1st place in the second Bayou City Division tournament of the year on Oct. 19th at Lake Livingston. The fishing was slow at best but the Highlanders finished with a team weight of 28.56 lbs. 133 boat teams participated representing 20 schools. 7 of the 15 TWHS teams competing weighed in fish. Congratulations to the team of Brad Battle, Tommy Mathay and Boat Captain Don Battle for weighing in 4 fish for 10.29 lbs to capture 3rd place.
TWHS THSBA team won 1st Place in the first Bayou City Division tournament of the year at Lake Somerville on Sept. 28th with a team weight of 44.53 lbs. 133 boat teams participated representing 25 schools. Highlights include Big Bass by Anthony Pondant weighing in at 9.68 lbs (team record) and Team Evan Carlson, Ross Dixon, and Greg Joyce captured first-place team with 18.85 lbs.
