THSBA Offshore Tournament Rules (2024-25) |
Houston Area High School Fishing Conference (HHFC) and TWHS BFT hosted our first ever Offshore (Boat) Tournament at Lake Conroe on October 11, 2014. HHFC became THSBA Houston Division in September 2015. Offshore tournaments are for students that are members of THSBA conference schools. Teams are comprised of two anglers, a boat and a captain. We do not provide boats to anglers. Anglers pay an additional fee and fill out additional paperwork to fish in offshore tournaments. Only anglers who are members of the TWHS Bass Fishing Team in grades 9-12 are eligible to fish as part of our TWHS BFT team in offshore tournaments.
If you want to join our offshore team, you must first join our TWHS Bass Fishing Team. After you have joined our school team, if you are in grades 9-12, you will be invited to join our THSBA offshore team. At that time, you will pay an additional fee to be a part of TWHS BFT/THSBA Houston, you will fill out season waivers and you will be offered the opportunity to buy an offshore jersey. Each tournament is also a separate fee.
You may also join our TWHS BFT B.A.S.S. team that fishes in conferences such as the Deep East. This is open to junior high anglers also. To do this, you must first join B.A.S.S. and then you pay additional dues to join our TWHS BFT B.A.S.S. and Texas B.A.S.S. Nation. Each tournament is also a separate fee.
If you have any questions about this, please contact us at [email protected]
REQUIRED: All anglers fishing on our offshore team will be required to get a Boater's Safety Certificate - this is a free online course. (click the button below) You will be required to show us a copy of this certificate (if you have taken a Boater Education course, that will suffice also)

THSBA is a 9 division tournament trail that offers 5 regular season tournaments in the Bayou City Division. Anglers in grades 9-12 are eligible to fish in this series. Tournaments are usually around 200 boat teams. Anglers finishing in the top 30% of the regional tournament will compete at the state tournament. TWHS BFT fishes this series as a school unit. Anglers join THSBA through our club and register for THSBA tournaments through our club.
