THSBA State Championship
at Lake Ray Roberts May 20-21, 2017
We are thrilled that 5 our teams qualified for this tournament (many schools had only 1 or 2 teams). Unfortunately, it turned out to be the toughest lake we faced all year. We are so proud of our teams for working together to try to find patterns and share strategies. All of our teams struggled to find keepers and thus, the results weren't what we hoped for. Congratulations to Montgomery for having the first place team and being the first place school. Out of 230 teams and 50+ schools, we had 1 team finish in the top 100. Congratulations to Evan Carlson/Ross Dixon for 83rd place. The great news is, 9 of our 10 anglers are returning next year and will hopefully make it back to state and have a chance to get the win!

What was one of the toughest days for our school ended up being one of our most successful. 140 teams from 27 schools participated in the third leg of the THSBA Houston conference tournament and only 41 teams weighed in fish. Of our own 13 teams, only 5 netted a keeper. However, 3 of those teams finished in the top 10 which earned our school 1st place in the tournament. This is a huge victory for our team as we are competing against Mongtomery High school that had 26 teams in this tournament and often dominates on Lake Conroe.
Congratulations to Bryce Meave/Triston Taylor for 4th place (9.42 lbs), Colin Cargol/Isaac Smith for 5th place (9.27 lbs) and Carter Bajoit/Hugh Cosculluela for 7th place (7.21 lbs). In addition, Isaac Smith took home the Big Bass award with a 5.65 lb hawg!
